Gwendolyn I. Putzier
Gwendolyn I. Putzier, 91, former resident of Canton, Ohio, passed away Monday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on Aug. 29, 1922, in Alliance, Ohio, daughter to the late John and Eva (Hogue) Hicks.
She had been a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Canton, and was a past madam president of the Nazir Grotto.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Putzier, and her sister, Beverly Jane Hicks.
Survivors include her son, John (Loriann) Putzier of Pennsylvania; her daughter, Jeannine Gaster of Louisiana; her grandchildren, Nathan, Jennifer and Carrie, and her great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Peyton, Carter, Campbell, Edward, Evelyn and Elisabeth.
PUTZIER — The calling hours for Gwendolyn I. Putzier, who passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Reed Funeral Home, 705 Raff Road, SW, Canton, Ohio. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery, Canton, Ohio.In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Stark County Humane Society.
