Michael Anthony Casper, 72, of Bakerstown, formerly of Valencia, passed peacefully surrounded by family Jan. 30, 2022.

He was the son of the late William R. and Rosalie Casper (Del Pozo), and was born June 13, 1949, in Butler.

Surviving are his wife, Julianne (Quatchak); his daughters, Laura Miller, Jennifer McMaster and Mary Ellen Caldwell (Shawn); his stepdaughters, Joni Mulvaney and Caeli Morrissey; his grandchildren, Sydney Miller, Austin and Haley McMaster, Ashley and Michael Caldwell, Amanda Rutt and Rebecca Bytner; his sisters, Barbara Musko, Patricia Casper and Eileen Gilson; his brother, William Casper; his stepmother, Margaret Casper; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his great-grandson, Hudson Rutt.

Michael was an avid hunter and sportsman, who valued God, family and country.

As a member of St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, he belonged to the Knights of Columbus.

He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a training sergeant at the 911th Airlift Wing in Moon Township, Pa., refueling planes. After retiring from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Michael spent his time hunting, fishing, painting and making stained glass art.

Michael was deeply adored by his three daughters, who he raised alone with courage and faith. After surviving a heart transplant in 2009, he was blessed with many years of happiness and a second lifetime of love with his wife of 10 years, and his stepdaughters. His strength and will were unmatched and he will be dearly missed by all who love him.

CASPER — Family and friends of Michael Anthony Casper, who died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, are invited to a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, with a reception immediately following.

Private interment will be held in Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery.
