Jessica “Jessie” M. Young Bieber
Jessica “Jessie” M. Young Bieber, 82, of Evans City passed away suddenly Thursday morning at her residence.
Born in Oxford, England, Sept. 19, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Albert J. and Lydia B. Pendle Young.
Jessie was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, Evans City.
She and her husband, Julian, operated the Bieber Greenhouse in Evans City for 50 years.
She also was a homemaker who was known for her kindness and generosity. She had a curious fascination with medicine and was constantly giving free advice after consulting her medical books.
Jessie was an avid reader and commonly would be reading one to three books at a time. She also enjoyed painting and crossword puzzles. One of her enjoyments was attending her class reunions each month.
Family was the most important thing to her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian J. Bieber; one son, Robert; three sisters, Kit, Jean, and Vera; and one brother, Joe.
Jessie was beloved Mum to Peggy Bieber of Harmony, Diana “Dee” Rodgers (Leo Jones) and Kathy (Tom) Wearing of Evans City, Linda (Martin) Defeo of Mount Lebanon and J. Dan (Heidi) Bieber of Slippery Rock; sister to Margaret (Walter) Herr of Indiana and Elizabeth “Lil” Green of Evans City, Robert Young and Kenneth (Joyce) Young both of Evans City; Grandma to Shane Fiel, Jason (Jenn) Bieber, Christine Eakin, Jake (Tina) Barto, Shannon (Zach) Rodgers, Stephanie (Jason) Wilfong, Amy (Chris) McLallen, Haley Defeo and Max Defeo; great-grandma to Caiden Barto, Remi Barto, Blake Wilfong, Adalynn McLallen, Dominic, Autumn, Spencer and Julian Bieber, Casey and Chase Eakin; and her dog, Brooke.
BIEBER — Friends and relatives of Jessica M. Bieber, who died March 16, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 W.
