Sandra Lee Smith
Sandra Lee Smith, 69, of Butler died Friday afternoon at her home.
She was born June 23, 1941, in Bellevue, Allegheny County, a daughter of the late William C. and Betty Jane Kinson Yates.
A graduate of Bellevue High School and the Mason Felix Beauty Academy in Brookline, in the Pittsburgh South Hills area, she was employed as a beautician in Pittsburgh for several years. After moving to Butler in 1982, she was a foster parent for Butler County Children and Youth Services for 13 years.
Sandra loved to cook, grow houseplants and decorate her home.
She was a lifelong Catholic, is fondly remembered as full of life and laughter, was a wonderful caring mother and one who would go out of her way to help anyone.
Surviving are her husband, Richard L. Smith Sr., who she married May 20, 1981; a daughter, Kim Eakin and her husband, Jeff, of Butler; four sons, Richard Smith Jr., Tim and Tom Smith and Tom Miller, all of Butler; a grandson, Dominic Smith; and a brother, William Yates of Pittsburgh.
Her parents and one sister, Donna Yates, preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian burial for Sandra Lee Smith, who died Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at the St. Paul Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. in Butler. Cremation services provided by the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, Butler.The St. Paul Women and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:40 a.m. Friday at the church.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
