Hilda Mae Eakin

Hilda Mae Eakin, 88, of Hindman Road died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sunnyview Home after a period of failing health.

She was born in Braddock, near Pittsburgh, Jan. 17, 1920, and was a daughter of Roscoe S. and Ella F. Lambus Kyle.

She was a member of the Evans Church in Lewis Run, near Bradford.

Mrs. Eakin was a 1938 graduate of the Emlenton High School and retired as a production worker at Zippo in Bradford after 33 years.

Surviving are a brother, Kenneth M. Kyle of Butler, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Her husband, George W. Eakin, who she married May 22, 1943, at the Methodist parsonage in Emlenton, died Dec. 14, 2002. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Fern Bell; a brother, James W. Kyle, a half-brother, Earl W. Wogan; and two half-sisters, Mildred Gabauer and Viola Johns.

<B>EAKIN </B>— Friends of Hilda Mae Eakin, who died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Richard d. Hillis funeral home</B> in Petrolia. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Rowe, a retired Presbyterian pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the McKean Memorial Park, Bradford.Memorial contributions may be made to the Evans Church, Lewis Run, PA 16738.
