Harry 'Dave' Atwell

Harry “Dave” Atwell, 68, of Saxonburg passed away Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born July 19, 1947, in Eau Claire, he was the son of Donald Atwell and Mary Jane Fritchman Atwell.

Dave worked as a welder for Pullman-Standard and for the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company.

He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver as well as a life member of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company. He liked to play pinochle.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Atwell, who he married Sept. 24, 1977; his stepdaughter, Diana Gess of Saxonburg; two brothers, John (Nancy) Atwell of Butler and Rick (Linda) Goehring of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; three foster sisters, Peg Kline of Connoquenessing, Mary Lou Walker of West Sunbury and Pam (Ben) Macurdy of Connoquenessing; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his foster parents, Sam and Helen Kline; and one foster brother, Jim Kline.

ATWELL — Friends of Harry “Dave” Atwell, who died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
