Joan Montgomery
Joan Montgomery, 73, of Renfrew passed away Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 20, 1943, in Renfrew, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret Frishkorn Abbott.
Every Sunday you could find Joan cheering for her favorite, and in her eyes the only NASCAR driver, Dale Jr. She loved spending time on the computer, mostly browsing Dale Jr. websites. Joan also had a love of horses that went back to her childhood, and she instilled that love not only in her son, but also in her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed attending horse shows and watching her grandchildren ride.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 55 years, Wilbur Montgomery; her son, (Becky) Jeff Montgomery; five grandchildren, Dara (Nathaniel “Dick” Cleary) Kradel, Dalton (Sarah Downing) Kradel, Bailey (Ryan Bauldoff) Montgomery, Jesse Montgomery and Stephanie Rodgers; his brother, George “Larry” Abbot; and her puggies, Abby and Dolly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Rodgers.
