Ernest Johns
Ernest Johns, 68, of Renfrew passed away Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital, Butler.
Born on May 16, 1946, in Rathbone, N.Y., he was the son of the late Ernest and Louise Brooks Johns.
Ernest enjoyed collecting guns and custom knives as well as spending time at the camp with his friends. He loved to attend flea markets and observe people, which he called “people watching.”
Ernest retired after 25 years as a welder for the Army Corps of Engineers.
He attended the St. John’s Reformed Church. Ernest will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
Ernest leaves behind to cherish the memory of him, his wife of 23 years, Kathy Kriess Johns, who he married on May 18, 1991; his four daughters, Danielle Marsh and her husband, Dave, of Virginia Beach, Va., Stacy Downing and her husband, Joshua, of Atlanta, Ga., Danielle Durso and her companion, Asyah Hussin, of Butler and Leather Burchett and her husband, Joshua, of Butler; his two sisters, Margaret Gee and Mary Dennis, both of Addison, N.Y.; and his six grandchildren, Erik Marsh, Kaylee Downing, Charles Downing, Abby Durso Hussin, Rocky Burchett and Keira Burchett.
In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his two sisters, Joyce Grubb and Shirley West; his brother, Floyd Johns; and his son, Eric Johns.
Johns — The Johns family will welcome friends of Ernest Johns, who passed away Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew, with the Rev.
