Raheem Robinson rejects plea deal in drive-by shooting case

Raheem Jamar Robinson, 28, and Mackenzie Peters, 23, were arrested last year for a drive-by shooting on North Sixth Avenue.

A Butler man held in Butler County Prison for a drive-by shooting has rejected a plea deal dropping the most serious charges he faced.

Raheem Jamar Robinson, 28, was called Thursday to be sentenced by Judge Timothy McCune for misdemeanor recklessly endangering another person and felony unlawful possession of a firearm.

As part of the plea deal, Assistant District Attorney Terri Schultz would have dropped the other 14 charges Robinson faced, including the most serious charge — attempted criminal homicide.

The agreement called for Robinson's incarceration for 4½ years to 10 years in state prison. But on Thursday, Robinson decided to reject the deal, rather than accept the sentence.
