Philip W. Hetrick

Philip W. Hetrick, 77, a lifelong resident of Karns City passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Sugarcreek Rest.

He was born Jan. 1, 1935, in Kittanning, and was the son of the late Foster Hetrick and the late Elva (Eckman) Hetrick.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1958 and was a member of the West Glade Run Presbyterian Church.

He retired from Indspec in Petrolia and worked for Western Auto in East Butler. He enjoyed woodworking and traveling.

Surviving are Carol (Marshall) Hetrick of Karns City, his wife of 56 years, who he married May 11, 1956; his sister, Emma Porto of Las Vegas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Foster, Clifford and James Hetrick; and three sisters, Anita “Pat” Lynds, Lois Beers and Delma Cogley.

HETRICK — Friends of Philip W. Hetrick, who passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012, were received Sunday, May 27, at Kennedy and Blodgett Funeral Home, Kittanning. Private graveside services were at the West Glade Run Presbyterian Cemetery on Tuesday. The Rev. Colleen McFarland officiated.Contributions in his memory may be made to the West Glade Run Presbyterian Church, 943 Glade Run Road, Kittanning, PA 16201.
