Preliminary hearing for man accused of assault continued
A scheduled preliminary hearing for an Ohio man accused of assaulting a 10-month-old baby has been continued.
The hearing for Christian S. Yeaples, 20, of Wellington, Ohio, before Judge Kevin Flaherty scheduled for Friday morning was continued until 11 a.m. April 1.
Yeaples, who appeared without an attorney, and his father, Michael Yeaples, requested a continuance to give time to gather funds to hire an attorney.
Flaherty granted the continuance.
Cranberry Township police filed charges against Yeaples on Dec. 21, including felony aggravated assault and child endangerment. He is accused of assaulting his girlfriend’s 10-month-old baby.
After his arrest and arraignment by District Judge David Kovach, Yeaples was placed in Butler County Prison on $50,000 bond. He posted bond on Dec. 22.
