Judge allows Scott Roskovski one last sentencing reschedule
This is a breaking news report — subscribe online or in print to read the full article in Wednesday's Butler Eagle.A federal judge is allowing a former county detective to delay his sentencing one last time for charges he pleaded guilty to in an embezzlement case.Scott Roskovski pleaded guilty to federal charges of filing a false loan application and false income tax return along with his wife, Stephanie Roskovski. The couple pleaded guilty to separate charges May 28 related to defrauding the Butler Health System between 2011 and 2017 of $1.3 million during Stephanie Roskovski's employment as chief operating officer for the system.Since pleading guilty, Scott has rescheduled or asked the court to delay his sentencing a handful of times before he asked a judge to withdraw his guilty plea. District Judge William Stickman IV denied the withdrawal request, and Scott Roskovski on Monday asked for another rescheduling. Stickman granted the request with the caveat that no more extensions of time will be allowed.Scott Roskovski also fired both of his lawyers, Michael A. Comber and S. Wesley Gorman, last week.
