IUP drops SRU

Gary Edwards won his 200th game as men's basketball coach of Indiana (Pa.) University Wednesday night as the Indians defeated Slippery Rock, 99-78.

The loss was the 19th in a row for SRU (1-20, 0-6).

Lawrence Baker paced IUP (13-6, 2-3) with 31 points and four assists. Damar Ruffin added 20 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

Brandon Thompson paced The Rock with 14 points. Joseph Vines contributed 13 points and eight rebounds while Jamar Scales and Matt Hale added 10 points each.

IUP sank 15 3-pointers as Edwards improved his coaching record to 200-85 at Indiana.

Butler County Community College 82, CCAC-South 75 —

The Pioneers (12-10) received 27 points from Matt Lobaugh, 14 points from Will Miller and 10 points and seven assists from Joel Rehm.

The victory clinches a WPCC home playoff game for BC3 at 7 p.m. next Wednesday.

IUP 76, Slippery Rock 59 —Mame Brumbaugh scored 16 points as the Indians (14-6, 3-2) snapped a two-game losing streak.Jahzinga Tracey added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Kara Taylor scored 11 points off the bench.Angela Greaser paced The Rock (11-10, 3-3) with 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Amanda Chojnacki added 11 points and Amber McFeely had five assists.CCAC-South 69, Butler County Community College 62 —Shannon Onderko and Brittany Beatty scored 11 points each for the Pioneers (10-6), who travel to CCAC-Boyce Saturday.
