Twila Ritzert

Twila Ruth Ritzert, 90, of Butler passed away at 3:25 p.m. Wednesday at Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born on April 24, 1924, in Connoquenessing, the daughter of the late Frank Fehl and Mazie Frishkorn Fehl.

Twila was a member of the St. Peter’s Reformed Church in Zelienople.

She graduated from Butler County Community College in 1973 as an LPN. She retired from the VA Medical Center after 19 years. She was an avid line dancer and a member of the Mt. Chestnut Senior Center and a lifetime member of the Tanglewood Senior Center.

Surviving are her daughter, Marlene (Wayne) Bird of Butler; her son, Douglas (Bonnie) Ritzert of Evans City; her twin sister, Thelma J. Schoeffel of Butler; her grandchildren, Emily and Wayne Lewis Bird; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Lewis Ritzert, who died on March 2, 1984; her grandson, Jason Michael Ritzert; her sister, Irma L. Lutz; and her brother, Theron Fehl.

Ritzert — The friends of Twila Ruth Ritzert, who passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, will be received from noon until time of service at 4 p.m. Saturday at theYoung Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with her pastor, James Bertoti, officiating.
