PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Steelers rookie offensive tackle Max Starks signed a three-year contract Monday worth $1.45 million, including a $530,000 signing bonus.

Starks, a third-round draft choice, was a left tackle at Florida but will get the chance to win a starting job at right tackle. He will make the NFL minimum of $230,000, $305,000 and $385,000 over the next three seasons.

Starks' signing leaves the Steelers with only one unsigned draft pick - quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, their first round pick.

The Steelers are hopeful of signing Roethlisberger before or shortly after they open training camp Friday in Latrobe.

Heavy rains on Monday washed out the Eagle County League baseball semifinal games between Zelienople at Saxonburg (at Highfield) and Mars at Freeport (at Swartz Field).Game 1 in the best-of-five series will begin today at 6 p.m.

Ben Vavro of Butler aced the 168-yard, No. 15 hole at the Butler Country Club recently. He used a 5-iron. It was his third hole-in-one.Ed Schoeffel at Stoughton Acres on Friday, No. 17 hole, 151 yards. He used a 6-iron.
