Foodie Friday

Folks line up to order during Butler's first Foodie Friday in July. The second event is to be held from 5:30 to 10 p.m. today and will feature vendors from the first event and some new participants.
New vendors ready to take part today

Foodie Friday will feature more tunes, treats and drinks Friday on Main Street.

The second of four Foodie Friday events will run from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Peoples Gas parking a lot and the adjacent lot owned by the city.

The event features food and drink vendors, as well as live music. It is free and open to the public.

New vendors include Bruster’s Ice Cream, L.A. Taco, Burritos by Brett and Sinkers and Suds, which sells specialty doughnuts and coffee.

Vendors from the first event, held in July, also will set up shop, including The Chop Shop, Cummings Coffee & Candy, Grandma Cyl’s Homemade Pierogi, Butler Brew Works and Reclamation Brewing.

Pennie’s Bake Shop & Espresso Bar also will be a vendor, selling pepperoni rolls that are not available at their shop. Other vendors also will be selling specialty foods they don’t usually offer.

“That way it’s still kind of special,” said Ben Smith, co-organizer of Foodie Fridays.

Musicians Mary Lou Scherder and Claire Vimala Anderson will perform at Foodie Friday.
