Sophie Meier
Sophie Meier, 96, of Butler passed away Sunday at her residence.
She was born June 18, 1921, in Lyndora, and was the daughter of the late Sam and Betsy Zubik.
Sophie was a member of Intersection Community Church which was formerly Christ Outreach Church. She was also a member of the South Butler Auxiliary.
She had been a homemaker and in her early years, had worked at Spade Shirt Factory and the snack bar at Armco Steel.
Surviving are her husband of 75 years, Ralph Meier of Butler, whom she married July 22, 1943; two grandchildren, Bridget (John) Vissari of Butler and Brent (Emily) Meier of Brookline, N.H.; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Lynn Dale Meier; and her two sisters and her brother.
MEIER — A graveside service for Sophie Meier, who died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Summit Evangelical Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 702 Saxonburg Road, Butler.Arrangements were entrusted to Young Funeral Home, 127 W.
