Suspicious package found in county mail room
A suspicious package received Saturday in the Butler County Government Center was removed and is being investigated, County Commissioner Kevin Boozel said.
“There was a suspicious package. They had it checked out and they took it,” Boozel said.
He said the Aaron Sheasley and deputy sheriffs discovered the package.
Boozel said he did not believe the package contained anything dangerous, but he couldn't provide further information, saying it is under investigation.
The FBI field office in Pittsburgh could not be reached for comment.
Butler Bureau of Fire officials said the department was not called to the scene.
