Brad and Dawn Patsy of Cowansville won the husband/wife unlimited division of the monthly Pennsylvania State Archery Association competition in Mechanicsburg in July.

Brad Patsy alsop finished first in the men's unlimited division while Dawn Patsy placed second in women's unlimited.

Karns City graduate Nate McCollough, an incoming senior second baseman-pitcher at LaRoche College, was named Most Valuable Player of the National Amateur Baseball Federation's College Division World Series in Toledo, Ohio, over the weekend.McCollough won two games and saved another for the Pittsburgh Pandas, who won the 16-team event.
