A memorial service was held Sunday, May 21, at the War Memorial in Community Park in Adams Township.
The event featured keynote speaker 1st Sgt. Dave Smith, commandant of Bantam Marines Detachment 243 and Butler County Veteran of the Year, as well as the Cranberry Men’s Chorus.
The Angels of Allegheny County, a group of Allegheny General Hospital nurses, also gave a presentation honoring nurses killed in wartime.
Adams Area Fire District attended, sporting a large American flag from a truck ladder, and the event was emceed and coordinated by Mary Jane Ford.
