Police charge Clearfield Township resident with murder in relation to alleged drug poisoning death

A 70-year-old Clearfield Township man is charged with murder after a woman was found dead as a result of drug poisoning in October.

Sloan Dale Hanson was charged with felonies murder of the third degree, drug delivery resulting in death, intent to deliver substances and involuntary manslaughter, according to a news release issued Thursday, Jan. 23 by state police.

Police said Kimberly Ray was found dead on Oct. 9 at a scene where suspected drugs and paraphernalia were collected by investigators.

Police said the coroner found that Ray died due to combined drug poisoning.

Hanson’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:10 a.m. Feb. 4 with District Judge Lewis Stoughton.
