Two charged with child endangerment
Butler City Police charged a Butler man and woman with endangering child welfare after drug paraphernalia was found around their residence during a welfare check.
William Wayne Harris, 37, and Brandy Lynn Harris, 38, were both charged with one misdemeanor count each of endangering child welfare, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to an affidavit, police responded to a call on Wednesday, Jan. 22, after a woman dropped off a juvenile with William Harris and witnessed blood on William Harris’ face. She also cited previous erratic behavior.
According to police, they arrived and knocked for several minutes before walking to the rear of the house. An officer found dried blood on the back door. William Harris said he did not know the cause.

Police called Children and Youth Services and helped the juvenile gather belongings.
According to police, they found more drug paraphernalia under the juvenile’s sweatshirt after lifting it off the table.
CYS took custody of the juvenile.
