Boy, 13, flown to Pittsburgh hospital after motorcycle crash
A 13-year-old boy was flown to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh following a motorcycle crash at SwitchbackMX on Sunday, Jan. 26.
LifeFlight, West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department, Unionville Volunteer Fire Company and Butler EMS responded around 12:51 p.m.
According to scanner traffic, the boy complained of neck and back pain at the scene. Unionville firefighter Nathan Wulff said calls regarding crashes at the indoor dirt bike track are fairly common.
Wulff said EMS may request a LifeFlight based on the severity of injuries and type of care needed.
