Woman charged with breaking window with a brick, taking gun
State police in Butler charged a Prospect woman after she allegedly broke into a home using a brick and stole a gun.
Samantha Riane Eppinger, 27, was charged with one felony count each of burglary, firearm possession while prohibited, theft and criminal trespass, and one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief related to an incident on Valentine’s Day in Jefferson Township.
Police said the homeowner arrived to find the master-bedroom window broken, with multiple items moved and missing, including a gray Sig Sauer 1911 pistol that was locked in a safe box.
Police said surveillance video showed Eppinger and another man attempting to break in, and Eppinger breaking the window with a brick. Police said Eppinger had an active Protection From Abuse order and was not to be in possession of a firearm.
Eppinger’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
