Police say Butler woman called 911 more than 25 times without emergency

A Butler woman has called 911 more than 25 times without an emergency, police said.

Butler Township police charged Keira Ashley Behun-Sporny, 20, with misdemeanor communications with 911 related to six calls on Feb. 19. Police said Behun-Sporny called 911 six times within 20 minutes without an emergency.

Police said Behun-Sporny called 911 to get someone out of her car near the entrance to Old Plank Estates before hanging up. Dispatch attempted a callback that went straight to voicemail but gathered there was a baby and another man in the car, according to the affidavit.

An officer located Behun-Sporny at a gas pump at Sheetz off Route 8. She was in her vehicle with a man. Behun-Sporny told police she called 911 because the man was throwing things in her car and refused to get out, according to the affidavit. Police said Behun-Sporny told them everything was fine now, and the man did not know why 911 was called.

Police said Behun-Sporny called 911 three more times after leaving Sheetz to get the man out of her car. Police said she drove to the Butler city police department and state police Butler barracks, and neither would remove the man from her car.

Since Jan. 1, police said Behun-Sporny has called 911 without an emergency 28 times.

Calling 911 without a legitimate reason is a second-degree misdemeanor punishable by a $500 to $5,000 fine and up to two years in prison, according to state law.
