Police reports
The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:
Feb. 10 — Police responded to Twin Lakes Lane in Jefferson Township and determined an unknown individual hacked a Facebook account and scammed the account’s friends out of $1,750. The investigation is ongoing.
March 1 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 356 and Fisher Road in Jefferson Township. Police said a Ram 1500 truck ran a stop sign and struck the Subaru Forester driven by Benjamin L. Spohn, 48, of Butler. Police said Spohn was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital with a suspected serious injury, and the Ram 1500 truck fled the scene. Police later located the vehicle in Summit Township and did not immediately identify the driver, but said criminal charges are pending an investigation.
March 3 — Andy William Lucas, 44, of Butler, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and one misdemeanor count each of controlled substance possession and drug paraphernalia possession related to an April 19, 2023, incident. Police said Lucas sold fentanyl and xylazine to a confidential informant.
March 3 — December Morgan, 26, of Youngstown, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of receiving stolen property and resisting arrest following a March 2 incident. Police said they found Morgan riding a stolen tricycle, and she resisted being put into their vehicle.
March 3 — Crystal Celestina Johnson, 37, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts following a Feb. 12 crash. Police said Johnson had a BAC of 0.235%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
