Slippery Rock high school evacuated for odor
Slippery Rock Area School District sent its high school students home on Wednesday, March 12, after the odor of gas was detected at the building.
Parents received a notice Wednesday morning, explaining the Slippery Rock Area High School had been evacuated this morning due to an odor related to the district’s construction project. Students and staff were evacuated around 9:15 a.m.
According to the notice, high school staff and students were evacuated to the middle school for an undisclosed period. A district parent called The Butler Eagle corroborating the notice.
Superintendent Alfonso Angelucci later said the high school students were sent home for the remainder of the day.
