Wexford man charged after repeatedly attempting to enter residence

A Wexford man was arrested after repeatedly trying to enter the residence of a Seven Fields woman Friday, March 14, Northern Regional police said.

Joseph Ryan Kearney, 23, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of loitering and prowling at night, stalking, defiant trespass and obstructing law enforcement.

Police said they were dispatched to a Hillvue Drive residence and found Kearney outside and unwilling to speak with officers. Police said Kearney had previously contacted the woman but showed no intention of coming to the residence.

Police said when the woman entered the door, Kearney pushed passed her into the home. He left when asked but then reentered the residence. When the woman asked him to leave again, Kearney did and sat outside until police arrived.

Police said as Kearney was about to leave, he abruptly turned for the door of the residence and attempted to enter before being placed into custody.

Kearney’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. March 28 before District Judge Kevin Flaherty. He is being held in Butler County Prison on a $75,000 bond.
