Man charged with threatening Zelienople business owners who would not hire him
Police said a Zelienople man is facing charges after he repeatedly threatened business owners when they wouldn’t employ him.
Zelienople police charged Chakir Errafaq, 62, with three misdemeanor counts each of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct related to multiple incidents between Feb. 27 and March 13.
Police said Errafaq visited a Zelienople business Feb. 21 and inquired with three owners about a job but was told the position he was seeking was not available. Police said Errafaq proceeded to call the store and an owner every day from Feb. 27 to March 13 leaving threatening and erratic voicemails. Police said he additionally texted an owner a threatening message.
Police said Errafaq also visited the business and falsely claimed an owner promised him employment. Police said a third party told them Errafaq had a history of erratic behavior and prior workplace disturbances.
Police said Errafaq was repeatedly instructed to cease all contact with the business and its owners but persisted.
Errafaq’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. April 9 before District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz.
