A GoFundMe account started for the family of a Butler man who died in a motorcycle crash has raised more than $6,000 in less than two days.

Ronald E. Litzinger, 43, died when the Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was driving westbound on Route 422 crashed around 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, just east of East Butler Road.

The GoFundMe was organized by Shari Saeler-Vinroe, who is a friend of Litzinger’s family, on behalf of his fiancee, Cassidy Nixon, and their blended family of five children. Litzinger’s obituary has not yet been released.

“Ron was the strongest man I know, and he knew so many people,” Nixon said. “He was a great provider for his family. He loved us more than anything in this world, and we all felt that.

“He was one of a kind, and I think that’s why so many people were drawn to him,” Nixon said. “I feel everyone’s pain right now, and I’m glad people have been honoring him and telling their stories to each other.”

On behalf of her family, she thanked everyone who has stepped up and offered help in any way. The outpouring of love and support for Ron has helped her through the days since the crash, Nixon said.

State police said Litzinger’s bike veered from the right lane of traffic into the left lane, making contact with the center median and then traveling back into the right lane, where it ultimately struck a guide rail on the northern side of Route 422 West.

“Anyone that has ever had the privilege of meeting Ron knew what a great guy he was,” the GoFundMe reads. “He was full of life and wanted to live life to its fullest.

“He was a giving, funny guy, loved by many … especially his family, as he loved his family with all he had. He worked hard to provide a very nice life for them … they were his world!”

Police said Litzinger was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Multiple witnesses reported to police that the bike “began wobbling violently” while heading westbound. Police said it was a prime factor in the crash.
