Erie man charged with harassing woman working at Harmony business

An Erie man was charged after police say he made unwanted advances toward a woman working at a Harmony business.

Zelienople police charged Preston Clark Edmands, 41, with one misdemeanor count each of terroristic threats, stalking, simple assault and disorderly conduct; and a summary harassment charge following a series of incidents on March 28 at the business.

Police said they were called to the business for a report of a man causing a disturbance. Police said they arrived to find a woman working there crying, shaking and having difficulty breathing.

The woman told police Edmands had visited the business at least three times that day and attempted to walk behind the counter the last time he was there. She said Edmands made multiple comments to her about “getting more comfortable upstairs” and grabbed her wrist forcefully, police said.

The woman told police Edmands told her she had to leave Harmony, had four days to “shape up,” and he would be back in two days to see her nude, according to the affidavit.

Police said Edmands visited the business again about 10 minutes after they left, and the woman locked the door and called 911. Police were able to track Edmands via a form at the business that had his information and he was placed into custody without incident, police said.

Edmands’ preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, before District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz. He’s being held in Butler County Prison on a $45,000 bond.
