A vehicle fire shut down a portion of Route 228 near Mars Area High School for about a half hour Monday, April 14, in Adams Township.

One woman escaped the vehicle without injury after it caught fire, according to Butler County Emergency Dispatch Services reports.

Fire crews cleared the scene at 8:22 a.m. after the call came in at 7:45 a.m., according to dispatch reports.

Adams Area Fire District, Callery Volunteer Fire Company and Quality EMS were dispatched for the incident.
