Crash report shows man was driving wrong way in Tuesday’s Route 422 crash
The vehicle involved in the Tuesday afternoon, April 15, crash in Summit Township was driving the wrong direction along Route 422 East when it struck a tractor-trailer, according to police.
Jason E. Curry, 48, of Butler, was driving a Dodge Magnum west along eastbound Route 422 near the East Jefferson Street exit when his vehicle hit a Volvo VNL tractor-trailer, driven by Aman Tamang, 25, of Stone Mountain, Ga., police said.
Both vehicles were traveling at 55 mph, according to the crash report.
Curry sustained suspected serious injuries and was taken by an East Butler Volunteer Fire Department ambulance to a hospital. Tamang was uninjured.
The tractor-trailer traveled about 320 feet down Route 422 East after the impact, and both vehicles were towed from the scene, police said. The crash was reported at about 2 p.m.
