A Jackson Township woman was killed by a Zelienople man before he traveled to Beaver County and died by suicide according to a Thursday, April 17, news release by state police.

Gina DePietro, 48, was found dead Wednesday at her Creekside Manor apartment in the 100-block of Affinity Drive, Jackson Township, after she was shot by Daniel Platt, 31, according to the release sent Thursday morning.

DePietro was found around 1 p.m. with three gunshot wounds, following a welfare check that was requested when she didn’t show up for work, according to chief deputy coroner John C. Hanovick.

Police said Platt traveled to Beaver County and died by suicide after the shooting.
