State police release Easter weekend crash, citation numbers
State police reported 42 more crashes and 55 fewer citations Easter weekend compared to 2024.
Police said they investigated 532 crashes between April 18 20, which resulted in six deaths and 95 crashes. Forty-five of the 532 crashes included intoxicated drivers, they said.
Police found there were more crashes resulting in injury in 2025 but fewer deaths and DUI-related crashes compared to 2024.
The number of citations issued Easter weekend in 2025 is lower across the board with 282 DUI arrests and 2,976 speeding citations compared to 2024’s 337 DUI citations and 5,346 speeding citations. Almost 250 fewer seat belt citations were issued in 2025.
