Two women charged after organized retail theft scheme strikes Cranberry Township business

Two women involved in a chain of thefts among Ulta Beauty stores along the east coast were spotted stealing from the Cranberry Township location, police said.

Cranberry Township police charged Paula Andrea Lopez Correa, 49, and Laura Daniela Hernandez Ramirez, both of Newport News, Va., were each charged with felony counts of organized retail theft, retail theft, receiving stolen property, conspiracy to commit retail theft and conspiracy to receive stolen property related to the alleged Feb. 8 incident.

Police said they were contacted by Ulta Beauty’s organized retail crime manager for the mid-atlantic and mid-east advising of the two women and another unidentified man. The manager told police the three had been involved in more than 19 retail thefts from Ulta Beauty locations along the east coast costing the brand more than $100,000.

Police said they used surveillance footage to determine the three individuals entered the Ulta Beauty store along Route 19 in Cranberry Township and were in the store for about 20 minutes.

Police said they stole about $3,014 in merchandise.

Police said the women were seen placing handfuls of products into their large purses, and the man was seen concealing handfuls of products in his backpack before the three left the store.

Preliminary hearings for the two women have not yet been scheduled.
