Cranberry Twp. gains last piece of Route 19 signal puzzle
CRANBERRY TWP — Supervisors approved an agreement Thursday, April 27, with Progress Place Holdings — the final piece needed for the Route 19 and Progress Avenue improvement project.
“We’ve been working some time to get a signal installed,” said Dan Santoro, township manager. “We’re in the permitting process with PennDOT at Route 19 and Progress Avenue. That’s one of the more dangerous intersections in the township.”
The intersection, Santoro said, has been the scene of “serious accidents” in the township. He said the improvement project aims not only to install a signal at the intersection, but also to realign traffic and add turning lanes.
