UPDATE: Police seek information as they investigate shooting in Butler, 2 treated for wounds
Butler city police are seeking the public’s help as officers investigate a shooting that occurred around 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, in the 400 block of West North Street.
Police said following the shooting, Dylon Henderson, 19, and Jashawn Johnson, 20, both of Youngstown, were treated for gunshot wounds to the legs at the Butler Memorial Hospital emergency room.
The two have since been released, police said.
According to police, Henderson and Johnson reported being in the rear of a car when an unknown person fired into the car.
Witnesses described seeing a Black male about 6-foot-1 with a thin build, wearing a black beanie, black puffy jacket, black shoes and black pants run from the area.
Police recovered evidence from the scene and said that the cars of those involved may have fled from that area.
Neighbors said Thursday that they heard gunshots near the North Street Laundromat, across from Broad Street Elementary School.
Butler city police are asking anyone with any information, video or anything else pertinent to the investigation to call Butler County 911 Center at 724-287-7769.
