Police Reports
The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:
Feb. 10 — James John Ford, 41, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, and one misdemeanor count each of controlled substance possession and drug paraphernalia possession following a Jan. 1 traffic stop in Penn Township. Police said Ford had cocaine, amphetamine, methamphetamine and fentanyl in his system.
Feb. 10 — John Wayne Scroggins, 58, of Boyers, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault related to an incident in Venango Township. Police said Scroggins beat a juvenile with a metal whip in an incident that occurred three to four years ago.
Feb. 11 — Christina Lynn Miller, 37, of Irwin, was charged with misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession following a Jan. 29 traffic stop in Washington Township. Police said they found a clear glass meth pipe in Miller’s vehicle.
Feb. 11 — Police responded to a report of a theft after a man received an EZ-Pass scam text and paid them $125. Police said the bank was able to stop the transaction and return the funds.
Feb. 12 — Guy Bradley Simons, 49, of Chicora, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest following a Feb. 12 incident in Oakland Township. Police said Simons resisted when being put in handcuffs, was screaming at passing cars and threatening to shoot people in the head.
Feb. 12 — Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Old Route 442 in Franklin Township. Police said Austin L. Ealy, 24, of Mars, struck a utility pole with his Subaru Forester and broke it in half. Police said the vehicle was disabled. Prospect Volunteer Fire Department, Butler Ambulance Service and West Penn Power also responded.
Feb. 13 — Bo Brady Murray, 40, of Petrolia, was charged with felony receiving stolen property related to a Jan. 28 incident. Police said Murray refused to return a vehicle upon the owner’s request.
Feb. 10 — Lisa D. Hetland, 53, of Gibsonia, was charged with misdemeanor accident involving damage related to a Feb. 5 crash. Police said Hetland did not stop after the crash.
Feb. 11 — Matthew Thomas Keeler, 39, was charged with felony theft and misdemeanor unauthorized vehicle use related to a Jan. 28 incident. Police said Keeler did not return the vehicle to its owner after repeated requests, and the vehicle was involved in two crashes while in Keeler’s possession.
Feb. 10 — Raymond William Priester, 56, of Harmony, was charged with one felony count each of retail theft and receiving stolen property, three misdemeanor counts each of retail theft and receiving stolen property, and two misdemeanor counts each of retail theft and receiving stolen property related to incidents that occurred in November in December. Police said Priester stole about $2,761.76 from Home Depot between six trips.
Feb. 12 — Sebastian Manual Baez, 26, and Joelene M. Rivera-Colon, 28, of Butler, were both charged with one misdemeanor count each of conspiracy retail theft and retail theft related to a Dec. 27 incident. Police said Baez and Rivera-Colon attempted to steal 39 items worth $377.43.
Feb. 11 — William Michael Ewing, 22, of South Park, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession following a Feb. 3 traffic stop. Police said Ewing possessed a small metallic grinder that contained marijuana.
