Two men charged with stealing more than $10,000 in flooring

Cranberry Township police charged two men after they allegedly stole more than $10,000 in flooring and attempted to steal more.

Rafeal Morrobel Garcia, 45, of New York City, and William Diaz, 45, of Wilkes-Barre, were charged with one felony count each of conspiracy to commit theft, theft, conspiracy to receiving stolen property and receiving stolen property related to a Feb. 18 incident.

Police said they learned from the ProSource regional manager that Diaz and an unidentified man placed an order for $11,000 of flooring from the Cranberry Township store to be picked up at an Allegheny County store. Police said after a chargeback, they learned the credit card was reported stolen.

Police said on Wedneaday, another order was placed for $14,224.43 in flooring. Diaz and Garcia arrived to pick up the flooring and were arrested. Diaz told police unknown individuals contacted him to pick up the flooring and deliver it to an unknown person in Maryland, according to the affidavit. Police said Diaz and Garcia could not identify who contacted them or their final destination.

Garcia’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday before District Judge Kevin Flaherty. Diaz’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
