Charges proceed for woman accused of distributing child pornography

A Butler woman accused of sending explicit photos of two juveniles to multiple users on a dating app waived her right to a preliminary hearing Monday, Feb. 24, before district judge William Fullerton.

Abby Elizabeth Kummer, 31, was charged Jan. 22 with two counts each of felony child pornography, sexual exploitation of children, spreading film of child sex acts and possessing computer photos of child sex acts; one count each of felony corruption of minors, unlawful contact with minors and criminal use of a communication device; two counts of misdemeanor endangering child welfare; and one misdemeanor count of sexual exploitation, according to the affidavit.

State police in the Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Computer Crime Task Force alleged Kummer uploaded child pornography to MeetMe, a dating app, between Dec. 21 and 29.

Kummer was represented by attorney Matthew Fischer.

Kummer’s formal arraignment is scheduled for 1 p.m. April 15 in Butler County Court of Common Pleas’ Courtroom 5.
