Man reportedly stabbed in area of Butler Township business

A man accused of stabbing another man in the area of a Butler Township hair salon Monday afternoon fled following the incident, according to police.

The stabbing, which was reported around 1:30 p.m. near SuperCuts along New Castle Road, prompted a series of interviews that police hoped would help find the man.

Police did not indicate the public was at risk.

Emergency services were dispatched around 1:30 p.m. for a 20-year-old man stabbed in the arm. Police said the man was conscious, alert and taken to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh for treatment.

Butler Ambulance Service and Butler Township police responded to the incident at 100 Benovan Square.

Butler Township police had not provided an update on the situation late Monday night.
