More information released on Tuesday pedestrian-vehicle crash in Butler Township

A man has been released from the hospital after he was struck by a vehicle Tuesday, March 18, in Butler Township.

Police responded around 7:16 a.m. Tuesday to Forest Heights Apartments for call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Police found Thomas Troutner, 68, was struck by the Ford Focus of Kenneth Douglas, 61, when Douglas’ vehicle made a left turn from a parking lot onto a private road near McCalmont Road.

Police said Troutner fell and struck his head on the pavement after being hit by the driver’s side mirror. Troutner was flown to Allegheny General Hospital with moderate to severe injuries before he was treated and released, police said.
